7th March Cordoba

We decided to wake up early for the drive to Cordoba.  The impetus behind this was the fact that on Friday mornings entry to the Mesquita is free for an hour from 08:30  (normally €8 each).
The Mesquita was quite fantastic, we think more impressive than the Alhambra.  After this we walked around the Jewish quarter which was full of narrow cobbled lanes and streets.
Next we drove to Estromoz in Portugal.  After the 45 mile drive from Cabra this was another 220 miles.  It turned out to be very pleasant in the afternoon sun (23 degrees).
Upon arriving in Estromoz we struck gold!  The aire that we were going to stay in was closed so whilst filling up with diesel in Pingo Doce supermarket we noticed an area of their carpark that would be good to park up overnight, so we asked the fuel attendant if we could and she checked with the manager and said yes!  BUT.... On top of that the fuel we filled up with was the CHEAPEST we had seen for weeks!  We paid €1.27 a litre and at 105 litres saved about €9 so well worth it.
We eat, drank and went to sleep very tired.
